In Kirundi, Harubuntu means "there is value in this place".
There is value here in Africa.
Men and women who are creating wealth and inventing a future that reflects their image. Men and women who are aware of their values and who wish to use these values to promote their development. Men and women who want to see their values recognised, understood and highlighted, both on their own continent and internationally.
Since development is only possible if one has self-confidence. Because during the history of Africa, these values were often secret, hidden and ignored, and it is time to highlight them. Because it is fair for Africa to take its place and to gain recognition of its values and those that it embodies.
Belgian NGO Echos Communication wants to rethink the way people work together, by, on the one hand, drawing attention to the reciprocity existing between North and South and, on the other, by promoting the potential of each of the parties.
This is why a network of Euro-African partners comprised of NGOs, media and independent people have stood up to organise this project together. Because we believe that it is time to reinvent the relationship between Europe and Africa. That Africa has human treasures, know-how, customs, expertise, culture and natural resources. And that even though its natural resources are known, its human treasures are still often hidden.
As citizens of the world, let's look at Africa together, to see all of its potential.
